Company History and Background

Founded: 2010

Oriel Sea Salt became the first Irish company globally to be granted a PDO Protected Designation of Origin status by the EU Commission for it's Sea Salt and Sea Minerals products. This now confirms that this is the only place in the world you can get this quality of Sea Salt. Oriel Sea Salt Company Limited which was formed in 2010 by Brian Fitzpatrick and John Delany and is located in Port Oriel, Clogherhead, County Louth. We extract and harvest Sea Water for Sea Salt and Sea Minerals using proprietary technology. Oriel Products: Mineral Sea Salt, naturally low in sodium and high in taste that is changing seasoning in food for hospitality and food producers. We supply more than 150 of our leading restaurants and hotels including, Michelin Star restaurants Chapter One, The Merrion & The Pearl, Lough Erne and internationally recognised culinary colleges such as Ballymaloe. We export more than 60% of our Sea Salt production to clients in the Middle East and USA. Food producer clients include Coca Cola, Largo Foods (O’Donnells crisps), Oliver Carty, Gallaghers Bakery, Neals Yard UK, Blast N Wilde butter and Prestige foods. We now provide three types of Mineral Sea Salt. Kiln Dried: Free flowing, perfect for food producers, Natural: Slightly moist with an almost powder like texture Smoked: which is our Kiln Dried infused with Aged oak
